Wives, Submit to Your Husbands

I know a lot of Christian women have a problem with the idea of submitting to a man. I have no issues with it at all. I am a naturally submissive person. It’s not always the best way to be, but it keeps me out of power struggles, including in my marriage. But that’s not the only reason that I’m able to submit to my husband. I’m able to respect my husband because he plays his role as well! I’ll explain. First, here are the verses I’m referring to.

Ephesians 5:22- 33 says: “Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Continue reading

My Phobia

This is just a post that will help you understand me a little better. I’m just going to tell you about my phobia! I am TERRIFIED of birds. If someone asks me to tell an interesting fact about myself, that’s usually it. Except, it’s really not that unusual. I actually know a lot of other people who are afraid of birds! Probably because they are evil, evil creatures. Continue reading

Leave the Judging of Nonbelievers to God

Mr. Rockefeller and I started reading our Bibles together while we were dating. Something that we both started to realize at the same time, was that we were not supposed to be judging the sins of others. We were coming to a realization about not judging nonbelievers, in particular. We are not the judges of the world, God is. Matthew 7:1 says “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” Many other verses in the Bible tell us that it is not our job to judge as well. It’s so hard! But only God knows peoples’ hearts. He knows their intentions and He knows everything about their pasts that led them to this point and He knows what path they are headed on. You do not. Continue reading

Being Married to a Hunter

My husband is obsessed with hunting. I’m not exaggerating! He hunts literally anything that is legal. He also traps and fishes, so there is rarely a time of year that he’s not outside. I do not hunt. I go with him every once in a while, but it’s cold and there’s so much walking and I don’t know how I would do with watching an animal get shot. Plus, it gets super boring if you’re sitting and waiting.

Mr. Rockefeller always thought he wanted to be with someone who shared his passion for hunting, but he married me instead. I may not share his biggest interest, but I love to see his passion! He lights up when he gets to talk about hunting. Continue reading

Easiest Way to Shape Your Eyebrows

Taking care of your eyebrows is no fun. There’s no way around that. But I’ve found a super easy way to do eyebrows! Plus, I’m super cheap and I refuse to get my eyebrows done when I can do it myself. I’ve let my brows go for a little while, so hopefully you can really see how well this method works! Here’s how I do it! (Remember that I’m being very brave, allowing you to see the up-close details of my face. So be kind!) Continue reading

Praise Without the Criticism

I love to see people’s mushy posts on the internet about their significant others! I love to see other people being happy and expressing their feelings. I like to sweet pictures and kind words on the internet (especially since it is so rare).

I have a pet peeve with many of these posts though! I’ve probably even done this myself… but I’ve realized that compliments need to be positive and completely positive! Continue reading

12 Tips for Time Outs

Time outs work for kids. You can tell me that they don’t work all you want, but I believe they can stop a behavior if they are carried out properly. Time outs are frustrating and time consuming, but completely worth it once you get yourself and your child into the routine. Here are my tips on using time outs!

  1. When you start using time outs, explain the process to your child. Let them practice it with a stuffed animal or doll. Continue reading
